Sing for Good is a global online video challenge. We invite communities to sing for joy in every postcode of Australia and beyond to support people in need. Groups of 2 or more from families, workplaces, schools, sports teams… everyone is welcome.

Sing for Good raises awareness of the global epidemic of our times: loneliness. Loneliness and isolation leads to mental and physical health issues and economic disadvantage. Its impact is even greater for people already experiencing disadvantage and more than 2 in 5 people feel socially isolated and unheard.

Be part of Sing for Good to create happier, healthier and more inclusive communities where everyone is heard.

Here is our Founder and Chair’s TEDx Talk How Singing Together Changes the Brain.

Families, workplaces, schools, choirs, clubs, sports teams… everyone is invited to Sing for Good. This is not a talent quest. It’s all about fun, wellbeing, creativity and inspiration!

Sing for Good is simple:

1. sing with a group (two or more)
2. enter your video + challenge your networks
3. donate, share + celebrate

Together, we can get communities singing around Australia and beyond! Donations support people in need through Creativity Australia’s With One Voice program.

Do good. Feel good. #singforgood

Choose any song you love! A nursery rhyme, campfire singalong, club song or power ballad – the sky’s the limit. Original songs are also welcome.

Haven’t got time? Enter a song you have already recorded. If you’re a choir or band, it could be your last performance or  just a quick video made with friends! Either way, share your love of singing and challenge your friends to enter too.

Stuck for ideas? Our wonderful partners at World Singing Day have provided everything you need to sing their theme song We Sing. Alternatively, try “Singing in the rain” made famous by Gene Kelly.

Sing with an instrument, percussion, licensed backing track (download one from HitTrax for about $3) or a cappella.

We recommend your entry is no longer than five minutes.

Check out the gallery to see what other people are singing.

Can’t sing? Won’t sing? Told not to sing? Forget it! Shower singers… it’s time to shine.

This is not a talent show. No singing experience is necessary. It’s all about joy, wellbeing, inspiration and creativity. Singing puts you in a can-do headspace where anything is possible.

That said… choirs, bands and musicians are most welcome too!

Sing for Good is not a talent quest. It is about joy, wellbeing, creativity and inspiration whilst helping those in need. Great videos and category winners will be judged based on creativity, inclusion, diversity, community, joy, and partnerships/collaboration.

Get your networks to like, donate, comment and share to support your entry by visiting your unique Fundraising Page (we’ll send you the link once you’ve entered). Donations are a critical part of Sing for Good. Plus, every dollar donated is equivalent to one ‘like’.

Your video must not:

  • be offensive or discriminatory;
  • use a commercial track for which you do not own the copyright as backing (this means you must not sing along with tracks from the radio, CDs, iTunes etc);
  • include product placement or overt advertising; or
  • feature made-up or adapted lyrics (unless you are entering an original song).

Planning to feature your Sing for Good video on your own YouTube channel or Facebook page? In the description, be sure to include the link to your Fundraising Page (we’ll email this to you after you enter), plus your song name, composer and publisher (if known).
